A Missouri prosecutor has reportedly revealed whether Nelly will face charges for his drug possession arrest in August.
On Wednesday, November 13, TMZ published an exclusive report asserting that a Missouri prosecutor has declined to file charges against the rapper for his August arrest.
Additionally, Chris King, a spokesperson for the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, briefly detailed the reasoning behind the decision.
“We don’t believe the facts in this case warrant the issuing of charges,” King reportedly told the outlet.
Furthermore, the rapper’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, also elaborated on the decision of the prosecuting attorney’s office.
“Wesley Bell, the prosecuting attorney, and his office looked at all the circumstances and after a fair and impartial review of the evidence, declined to prosecute,” Rosenblum informed the outlet.
Social media users reacted to the update on Nelly’s drug possession case in The Shade Room’s comment section.
While Instagram user @theblacklawyerspodcast added, “Good Ashanti need her child’s father at home lol ”
As The Shade Room previously reported, the rapper was reportedly arrested on August 7. At the time, it was reported that he had been taken into custody that morning in St. Louis.
Furthermore, it was asserted that the rapper was found with ecstasy pills. Per TMZ, Nelly’s arrest reportedly stemmed from a 2018 warrant “for no insurance from a previous traffic stop.”
Ultimately, the rapper was reportedly booked on “felony drug possession.”
Furthermore, in August, Rosenblum spoke out about Nelly’s arrest, asserting that officers’ claim of finding ecstasy on Nelly’s person was bogus. Additionally, Rosenblum asserted that Nelly had never received notice of the 2018 warrant.
