a documentary film titled
The Last of the Sea Women, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Sue Kim. A breathtaking look at the lives of the
Haenyeo – the sea women of South Korea’s Jeju Island. The co-production hails from Extracurricular, the production company of women's rights activist & Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, in partnership with Apple TV+ and A24. The doc is premiering at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival this month and also at the Aspen & Nashville Film Festivals, before it's streaming on Apple TV
in October. Their way of life is in danger of disappearing...
