Adam Louis Anson, a Florida landlord, has been arrested after allegedly shooting a tenant, Carlos Alberto Gonzalez, following a dispute over a thermostat.
According to NBC 6 South Florida, the incident occurred at the 9400 block of Southwest 17th Terrace in Westchester, Florida, on Saturday, January 25. Anson reportedly arrived at Gonzalez’s home “with a semi-automatic pistol.”
Once there, Anson allegedly tried to get inside the home by knocking on a window. Per a police report, Anson arrived at the location to “adjust the thermostat that was in the hallway.”
Furthermore, once Gonzalez opened the door, Anson allegedly “forced” himself inside and began assaulting him. Per the outlet, the landlord allegedly dragged Gonzalez to the backyard and “shot him several times in the head.”
Gonzalez reportedly passed away after being transported to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition.
According to the outlet, after the shooting, Anson entered the home and adjusted the thermostat. He then went to his home and called the police to report that he shot Gonzalez in self-defense.
Furthermore, NBC 6 South Florida reports that Anson has been charged with “second-degree murder and burglary with armed assault or battery.”

Per reports, Gardner admitted to spending “every day” at her boyfriend’s home and leaving her 2-year-old and 4-year-old son alone at her home for hours on end.
