The news of Angie Stone’s death shocked fans, collaborators, and fellow musicians alike. Stars like Anthony Hamilton, Leela James, Keke Wyatt, Syleena Johnson, Eric Benét, and Kenny Lattimore all took to Instagram to honor her life, expressing heartbreak over her untimely passing.
Syleena Johnson joined other musicians in celebrating Angie’s life on Instagram. She posted an Instagram Reel filled with heartwarming photos and videos of their time together. In a lengthy caption, Syleena opened up about how tough it was to even perform after hearing the heartbreaking news.
“I am very sad and will be for a while but I KNOW you are with the King. I have been [privileged] to know you as as a sister friend and always my soror. At your induction ceremony, I told you that you were now stuck with me forever😶…..I love you sis. And while I am heartbroken that God found it to time for you to be with him, my heart is broken that we will not be able to have you here with all of us….I am devastated and there actually aren’t any words good enough for me to express myself. RIH Angie… you now have the peace you have always deserved❤️💔😔,” Syleena wrote.
Eric Benét was another star who expressed his deep pain as he mourned the loss of Angie.
“Literally 2 months ago at our brother Jon Richmond’s memorial service. I have a deep deep pain and no words. Rest in Power Angie Stone,” he wrote on Instagram.
Anthony Hamilton also joined in posting several throwback pics of him and Angie on Instagram, sharing how devastated he was to learn that she was gone.

Just hours after Angie Stone’s death made headlines, a social media account allegedly belonging to her daughter, Diamond Stone, responded to the heartbreaking news. The account, under the name “Ladi Diamond,” posted a message on Facebook saying, “my mommy is gone,” followed by several crying emojis.
The account also thanked everyone for the outpouring of love and mentioned needing some time to process. Angie shares Diamond from her previous marriage to Rodney Stone, also known as Lil’ Rodney C!
