"To drink from the waters of oblivion is to loose the ties of the past." Quiver Distr. has revealed the official US trailer for an eco-thriller survival film titled
The Well, a Canadian production from filmmaker Hubert Davis (director of
Black Ice + upcoming
Youngblood hockey movie). This already premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival in Canada and will be out on VOD in the US starting
March. In a world where environmental collapse has left survivors to fight over the precious resources, a young woman's loyalties are tested by the arrival of a wounded man who learns her family has a secret supply of freshwater. Fantasia adds: "Steeped in tension and pathos, Davis builds a world where the threats aren’t made of fantasy; he acknowledges real environmental consequences and potential future in this riveting sci-fi thriller." The indie survival thriller stars
Joanne Boland,
Noah Lamanna,
Sheila McCarthy,
Steven McCarthy, and
Shailyn Pierre-Dixon as Sarah Devine. Alas this looks just like so many other boring post-apoc films, not much to see here. //
