"Ya'll accepted me too fast. You can't do that! You made me feel too free... People need rules!" Indeed they do. A24 has revealed an official trailer for an indie dark comedy titled simply Friendship, an awkward film about friends from filmmaker Andrew DeYoung. This first premiered at TIFF 2024 last fall in Toronto, and it's playing at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival next in March before it hits theaters starting in May. Suburban dad Craig falls hard for his charismatic new neighbor, as Craig's attempts to make an adult male friend threaten to ruin both of their lives. A24 describes this as "a laugh-until-you-cry nightmare comedy about male bonding gone awry." Starring Tim Robinson as Craig, Kate Mara, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Paul Rudd as Brian. This earned rave reviews at TIFF last year, quite a few quotes included in this - the best one calling this "I Love You, Man for sickos." Maybe men shouldn't have friends?
