"You think you're real funny, huh?" "I'm a little funny..." Surprise! Netflix debuted a 60-second TV trailer at the Super Bowl for the new
David Fincher spin-off movie
The Adventures of Cliff Booth - which just finished filming a couple of months ago. This is an impressive first look! Featuring a grainy throwback vibe, with scratched out censoring right in the footage. The story takes place about 8 years after the original 1969-set film
Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood directed by Quentin Tarantino, focusing on an older Cliff navigating a darker, seedy side of the industry as a "fixer" for Hollywood studios who helps make problems disappear.
Brad Pitt reprises his role as the chill stuntman from
OUATIH, with a screenplay by Tarantino but this is instead directed by the one-and-only David Fincher. Now doing his 3rd Netflix movie in a row. An intriguing hand-off – though so far this looks like it is going to be totally badass and worth the wait to see what Fincher & Pitt are cooking up. The ensemble cast also includes
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II,
Elizabeth Debicki,
Carla Gugino,
Timothy Olyphant,
Holt McCallany,
Lauren Glazier,
Peter Weller, and
Scott Caan. As our first look at this one-off, spin-off
Cliff Booth movie, this is just the right amount of hype and good vibes. I just hope they put this out in theaters first - seems like it'll be a full-on, big screen joyride. //
