Shannon Sharpe is feeling the flames after going head-to-head with Gabrielle Zuniga in the court of public opinion. Zuniga filed an anonymous $50 million lawsuit against the sports commentator less than a week ago. She accused Sharpe of forcible rape and threats of physical violence. He has released multiple statements denying the allegations. Michele Bundy Evans, a woman who formerly sued him for defamation, has now spoken out about Zuniga’s allegations.
Michele Bundy Evans previously filed a lawsuit against Shannon Sharpe in 2023. In a new statement to the U.S. Sun, she called Sharpe for allegedly “doxxing” his new accuser after she sued as Jane Doe. Additionally, Evans spoke about her experience going up against him!
“I want people to understand what Shannon did to this woman, by doxing her, by putting out her name, by putting out her OnlyFans account. That was horrifying, because things are going to happen to her because of that,” Michele Bundy Evans told the outlet.
The former accuser said that she still received hate “to this day,” nearly two years after suing Shannon Sharpe. “…I went through a lot of things, as you can see in the complaint, that actually even stemmed from it,” Evans told U.S. Sun.
As for Evans’ lawsuit, she came forward in 2023 and submitted her filing in New York. Michele’s lawsuit revealed an almost 10-year relationship with Shannon Sharpe that ended with her assault. In 2010, Evans said she got into a confrontation with Sharpe about his alleged infidelity. Afterward, Sharpe requested sexual intercourse, and Michele refused, which led to the penetration assault.
“The Defendant proceeded to forcefully subdue me, compelling me to my knees and subsequently engaging in non-consensual oral penetration,” Evans complaint said. “Despite my protests, he persisted in this violation.” She further alleges, “Thereafter, Shannon’s coercion escalated as he maneuvered me onto the bed and achieved non-consensual vaginal penetration, all the while proclaiming his intent to ‘Make it so no other man would want me.'”
Though her lawsuit details a sexual assault, it’s based on defamation, libel, and slander. However, those accusations stem from his alleged reaction to her accusing him of the sexual assault described. She says he’s made public remarks defaming her and damaging her reputation. Her proceedings against Shannon Sharpe are ongoing, but she did drop a restraining order against him, allegedly out of fear. She told the Sun that a man approached her at her apartment in a threatening manner while her child was inside the home, which shook her. Michele Bundy Evans is seeking four million dollars in damages.
Shannon Sharpe has been on the defense since Gabrielle Zuniga filed her lawsuit in Nevada earlier this week. He has been standing in his alleged innocence, releasing text messages and video statements. Meanwhile, his accuser’s legal team isn’t backing down, releasing their pieces of evidence, including audio clips. As the heat continues to burn, Shannon announced on Thursday that he’s stepping aside from his role at ESPN.
In a new statement to Page Six, a rep for Shannon Sharpe shut down Michele Bundy Evans’ defamation lawsuit allegations. The rep added that his client and Michele have not had contact in “many years.” Additionally, they called her allegations “ridiculous and completely without merit.” They also called out that she’s representing herself, and her alleged probation record after serving a three-year prison sentence.
