Alison Agatha Lawrence, a 57-year-old woman boarding a flight at Orlando International Airport, has been arrested for allegedly drowning her dog in the bathroom.
According to WFTV, on December 16, 2024, Lawrence was reportedly trying to board a flight at Orlando International Airport. However, she was reportedly told that her dog would be unable to board the flight because she did not have the proper paperwork. Per the New York Post, Lawrence then took her dog to a women’s restroom ahead of the security checkpoint and drowned the animal.
Afterward, she reportedly boarded her flight “as if nothing happened.” Per the outlet, an hour later, an airport employee reportedly found the deceased dog and alerted police. To note, TooFab reports that the employee allegedly found the dog inside a trash receptacle.
According to the outlet, an investigation was opened, and on Tuesday, March 18, Lawrence was arrested in Clermont, Florida. Furthermore, the woman has reportedly been charged with one count of felony animal abuse.
Lastly, the outlet reports that she was released from custody that same day, after posting a $5,000 bond.
“Someone that would do such things has got to be disturbed upstairs,” a neighbor reportedly told reporters the day Lawrence was apprehended.

Elsewhere in Florida, a woman has been sentenced for allegedly shooting and killing her terminally ill husband. As The Shade Room previously reported, Ellen Gilland was sentenced to a year in prison and 12 years of probation earlier this month. Gilland reportedly entered an AdventHealth location in January 2023. Additionally, she shot her husband, who was a patient on the 11th floor.
Subsequently, it was discovered that Gilland and her husband planned the shooting in the event his health “took a turn for the worse.”
