Rubi Rose is owning up to the shade she threw at her most recent ex-boyfriend, Druski. The rapper and comedian gagged social media when they popped out with baewatch energy a year ago, in April 2024. After a few more public showings of their romance, including a kiss, Rubi revealed her single status in June. Then, the ‘Big Mouth’ rapper later accused Druski of paying her to fake their relationship.
Rubi Admits To Lying About Ex-Relationship For THIS Reason
Rose had her “honesty moment” during a link-up with streamer Adin Ross for a lil’ online chat. She pointed at another man in the room and said he knew the truth. Rose admitted that she and Druski were “really in a relationship” and that it was NOT a PR stunt.
“I said that it was PR because he pissed me TF off and really hurt my feelings. But that was really lame of me and embarrassing, and I shouldn’t have said that, but I was like, I had to stand on it.”
Rubi Rose said that moment is in the past for her and Druski, though. She revealed that they’re still really close friends. The rapper said they’ve known each other for like 10 years. “We’re always gonna be friends. I just want to clear it up ’cause he was really bothered by that,” Rubi added.

Rubi mentioned that she’s known Druski since their high school days, the ex-pair are three years apart. However, the two weren’t romantically linked until last year. Pictures from a mutual friend’s beach getaway first sparked the dating rumors. Then came the videos of them spending time together in a kitchen and car and celebrating their two-week anniversary. By May, the pair shared footage of them smooching! Still, social media users weren’t convinced the relationship was real.
In June 2024, Rubi Rose was traveling abroad for Paris Fashion Week and dropped the breakup news during a street interview. “F**k love…I’m single, guys,” the rapper said. The following month, Druski spoke out about maintaining a relationship with a woman of Rubi Rose’s “caliber,” including her beauty. During a media interview, the comedian seemingly shut down any cheating narratives.
“…I don’t know if I was prepared yet. But I learned a lot from it, so I think I’m coming out of that [relationship] — you better have them pockets ready… I ain’t saying that’s what happened – you just gotta be ready.” He added , “…you don’t know when you’re gonna have to be pulling that wallet out…”
Then, in August, Druski claimed he was “trolling” when he talked about the financial burden of dating Rubi Rose.
Rubi Rose first claimed that dating Druski was a public relations stunt in September before deleting the X posts.
Meanwhile, in the caption of an Instagram carousel post flexing his travels, Dru wrote, “Never needed no PR.” An Instagram Stories post from the comedian showed his face photoshopped onto Nick Cannon’s face in the artwork for the movie ‘Love Don’t Cost A Thing.’
