"A woman has to save herself however she can. A woman has to be resourceful. Always." Indeed. AMC has revealed an official trailer for
The Last Anniversary, an original series made in Australia streaming this spring on AMC+ in the US. It is a mystery that touches on family matters, motherhood and those women whose legacy defines the generations that blossom after them. "Every family has their secrets." It's based on Liane Moriarty's
novel of the same name - this will be out streaming in the US at the end of
March. Sophie inherits a house on Scribbly Gum Island, left to her by her ex-boyfriend's great-aunt Connie, however, the island has many secrets. After the unwelcome reception she receives on arrival, she begins to investigate the mysteries of the island and finds herself drawn into a complex web of long-held family secrets spanning three generations of women, uncovering far more than ever expected. The series stars
Teresa Palmer as Sophie Honeywell, along with
Miranda Richardson,
Danielle Macdonald,
Helen Thomson,
Susan Prior,
Claude Scott-Mitchell,
Charlie Garber, and
Uli Latukefu. Of course this is being marketed like a scary true crime series, because that's the only way you can get people into watching anything nowadays. //
