Tamar Braxton is breaking her silence (on camera) after a wild health scare that had everyone talking this past week. The singer hopped on TikTok Live, addressing the mysterious incident she claims nearly took her out last weekend. Found in a pool of blood with missing teeth and a fractured nose, Tamar’s story got even messier when Funky Dineva was dragged into the mix after he was partying with the singer shortly before she claims she almost lost her life. Here’s the lowdown…
On Thursday, August 29, Tamar took to TikTok Live, getting glammed up while speaking out on her recent health ordeal. “Y’all have allowed this person to bully me and eat me up, and the truth is, I’ve been in the hospital,” she said in a video obtained by Live Bitez.
Visibly emotional, she added, “And the people want me to go back to the hospital, but I don’t want to go.” Tamar got choked up, stepping off frame as she admitted things had been “really hard” for her in the past week while she was recovering at a hospital.
The ‘Braxton Family Values’ star continued, seemingly reading comments during her Live before clapping back at one remark. “I love drama? Well, what’s the drama? Somebody gotta tell me,” she said. Tamar was then overcome with emotions again, tearing up as she explained:
“All I know is I went to bed and I woke up, and my life changed, and I probably shouldn’t have said nothing, but I panicked because I was scared and I was alone, and I was in pain. And that’s it, I don’t have to lie, I got money, I have success, I don’t have to lie about anything.”

Meanwhile, Tamar herself ended up taking to the comments, writing, “Yall won! There is no more album. And I’m going to my farm and u will never hear from me again. I’m sorry for everything”
Funky wasn’t feeling Tamar’s silence when fans started pointing fingers at him after her health scare. The internet personality, who partied with Tamar at V12 Lounge in Atlanta the night before her incident, was shocked when she claimed she “almost died” in her IG Stories post.
The two had celebrated his birthday together, so when he later saw fans tying him to Tamar’s allegations and she hadn’t cleared his name, Funky decided to take the matter into his own hands. In a heated post, Funky spilled, “I got ate up alive over my birthday weekend, and there was nothing wrong with Tamar’s a**!” He called her allegations a publicity stunt to push her new EP, ‘Heartbreak Retrograde.’
Tamar wasn’t having it, hitting back to clear the air:
“Had I known what was going on while I was in the hospital trying to recover, I would have said something. It’s terrible that whatever I DIDN’T say turned into all this. I just want PEACE,” she wrote.
In response to Dineva’s claims, Tamar doubled down, saying, “I’ve done too much healing to fight with ANYONE!! I just want to get better and continue doing what I love.” But Funky’s still not buying it, claiming her silence on the matter left him as “collateral damage,” subsequently catching a lot of heat from fans with unanswered questions.
In the midst of Tamar and Funky’s back-and-forth, the reality star’s Miami dentist, Dr. Amira Ogunleye, came forward to share her take on what she believes caused Tamar’s blackout. According to Dr. Amira, who treated Tamar’s busted mouth, the singer’s injuries could have been tied to “somnambulism” (aka sleepwalking). After ruling out a stroke or seizure by medical professionals, Dr. Amira says Tamar’s team called her up quickly to perform emergency oral surgery to stabilize her.
“We also recommended that Tamar immediately see a medical doctor to evaluate […] and upon their evaluation, they determined that she did in fact have a fractured nose. As far as the cause, the medical team ruled out seizure, ruled out stroke, and the only thing that it could possibly be is somnambulism, which is sleepwalking.”
It’s worth mentioning that Tamar has not publicly addressed her dentist’s claims that she may have been sleepwalking.
