Latorray Collins, a 38-year-old Florida woman, has been charged after allegedly tracking down her ex-boyfriend and shooting his female passenger.
According to News4JAX, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 15, at an intersection in the Murray Hill area of Jacksonville, Florida. Per Collins’ ex-boyfriend, he allegedly broke up with her sometime before. Earlier in the day, Collins reportedly called the man, asking him to pick up his belongings.
The man reportedly refused, adding that Collins was welcome to throw his belongings away. Subsequently, the man then stepped out for the evening with a woman. To note, News4JAX reports that the the woman was someone he previously dated. However, the New York Post reports that the woman was the man’s married cousin, Latasha Taylor.
While they were driving to a restaurant, he reportedly stopped at a stoplight at Edgewood Avenue and Post Street. While waiting for the light to change, the man reportedly noticed Collins’ car pull up alongside the passenger side of his vehicle.
After a failed attempt to drive away from Collins, she reportedly approached his vehicle, knocking “aggressively” on the window. An argument ensued between Collins and the man, then Collins and his Taylor. Ultimately, Collins shot the woman in the head.
According to News4JAX, police discovered a “.380 caliber shell casing where the victim was found.” Subsequently, Latorray Collins was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
She is reportedly awaiting trial scheduled to appear in court on March 11, per PEOPLE.
