A family gathering in the Northern California city ended in tragedy when gunfire erupted, leaving four dead and allegedly at leas tten wounded. The horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the community, as families and local officials scramble to understand what happened.
According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting took place inside a banquet hall near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue. Reports indicate that the venue was hosting a family who was reportedly celebrating a child’s birthday. Authorities rushed victims, from juveniles to adults, to nearby hospitals for treatment. “Approximately 14 individuals were struck by gunfire, and four victims have been confirmed deceased,” the sheriff’s office said, adding that details remain limited as detectives continue to investigate the incident.
