As Diddy’s federal racketeering and sex trafficking trial kicked off, his mother and children were seen making their way into the courthouse, drawing attention from onlookers. Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, led the way, followed by his six eldest children. The family entered through the main entrance, not escaping attention from the media, onlookers, nor supporters. Inside, Diddy arrived just before 9 a.m. EST, as the court prepared to finalize a 12-member jury. As The Shade Room previously reported, Diddy was first indicted in September 2024 on serious federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation with intent to engage in prostitution. As reported, an updated indictment has since added another charge of sex trafficking and an additional count of transportation to engage in prostitution. Diddy and his legal team have continued to deny all allegations brought against him.
The trial officially kicked off on May 12 in New York City, with a jury now selected to hear the case. The panel consists of eight men and four women, chosen from a pool of roughly 45 potential jurors. As proceedings commence, all eyes remain on the courtroom as one of hip hop’s most iconic figures faces a legal battle with major implications.
