Netflix has revealed the official trailer for Miracle: The Boys of '80, their new documentary on the famous 1980 US Hockey victory in the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. It's also the same story told in the famous movie also called Miracle starring Kurt Russell (one of my all-time favorite sports movies). Just in time for this year's Winter Olympics - you can catch this doc streaming online. A young hockey team enters the 1980 Olympics as underdogs and emerges as heroes. Their iconic upset unfolds with new footage and firsthand reflections. This is a brand new doc exploring this iconic moment in sports / hockey / Olympics history and how they pulled off this impossible victory against the Russians in 1980. This doc also brings back ALL of the original players for interviews now (46 years later) to talk about the experience and rewatch footage and chat. Having watched Miracle so many times I'm already intensely familiar with this particularr story, but this looks like a nice complement to the movie – and an inspiring look back at this incredible achievement of teamwork and ice hockey talent. // Continue Reading ›
