"There's only two people that know you are gonna win this fight tonight: there's you and there's me." Lionsgate has unveiled the teaser trailer for an action thriller called
Beast, made by Australian filmmaker Tyler Atkins. Yet another MMA movie with the exact same must-fight-and-win plot as literally every other MMA movie before. A fisherman who once fought for a living agrees to a final return in an MMA shodown after his brothers is put in danger — forcing him to confront whether violence can ever set a family free. Pushed to his breaking point, the contender's stakes are simple: win, or lose everything he's built. Of course! It's always this! The screenplay is actually co-written by Russell Crowe.
Beast stars
Daniel MacPherson,
Luke Hemsworth,
Bren Foster,
Amy Shark,
Mojean Aria,
Kelly Gale, and
Russell Crowe as his trainer. Out in theaters
this April. Not to be confused with 2017's film
also titled Beast with Jessie Buckley. This story about brothers also reminds me of the excellent
Warrior film – which I will recommend as well. //
