Michelle Obama has been airing out what her life is like behind the scenes! From shutting down divorce rumors to doubling down on skipping Trump’s inauguration, the former First Lady has been giving real and raw energy! Most recently, Michelle gagged her supporters when she revealed her love for reality TV, namely ‘Love & Hip Hop.’ After name-dropping two of Atlanta’s hottest, Momma Dee penned a social media note from “the palace.”
Michelle revealed reality TV as her guilty pleasure while she and ‘IMO’ host Craig Robinson interviewed Taraji P. Henson on their podcast ‘IMO.’ That’s the same one she spilled some of the tea mentioned above. Obama brought the topic of TV stars into the loop when she asked Taraji about her favorite franchise. When Henson said she watches “a little of all of ’em,” Michelle responded, “So do I, girl.”
“Momma Dee! Oh, chile, oh chile! Scrappy…They sure do,” Michelle added about everyone’s family having a Momma Dee, as Taraji said. “I tell my husband, I watched unscripted and it brings me, I don’t know, it just settles me down.”
Then, the former First Lady agreed with Taraji that “the Blackness” in the shows settles them down. Obama explained how she, like probably some of y’all, goes in while watching ‘Love & Hip Hop’ and how she would act in certain scenarios! Watch the wholesome interaction below.

Lil Scrappy hasn’t yet commented on Michelle Obama’s praise, but his mother wasted no time accepting her digital flowers! She reposted the clip on her Instagram page, and bragged in the caption, writing:
“For me and my son @reallilscrappy to be recognized by two incredible Women is unexplainable!
Thank you to the former First Lady of the United States @michelleobama & the amazing @tarajiphenson !
Much Love from the Palace to you! #TheQueen #MommaDee #InThatOrder #LHHATL”
The official ‘gram of ‘Love & Hip Hop’ slid into Momma Dee’s comment section. “AND IN THAT ORDER,” the series account wrote. Fans also gave Dee her props for being one of the most recognized reality TV mamas.
“Represent the palace queen,” @stillenigmatic commented.
@thebaddestbrinxx was campaigning for VH1 to cut a proper check, writing, “@vh1 @monascottyoung @mtv take notes! Momma Dee is and always has been a MAIN character and deserves to be treated as such! Pay the Queen what she’s owed because Michelle Obama said so!
.”
@ghtown9837 wrote, “Momma Dee really is a household favorite. I’d love to see her venture out past love N hip hop. Like Zeus or now that’s TV.”
“The Palace is recognized by all!! #MommaDee,” @shayla_mayweather wrote.
@kerimelshawty also gassed her up: “We can all agree that momma Dee has been the main character since love and hip hop Atlanta started!!”
“Let em know who the FAIRIEST of em all is!! ,” @rock_androllerson.
@stillclockingbaddies added, “This makes you a TELEVISION ICON ”
While Momma Dee loves that Obama also mentioned Lil Scrappy, HE wasn’t too happy with his mother recently. In a social media rant in March, he popped off about Dee and his ex-wife, Bambi, mentioning them online. His fed-up moment came after Bam responded to Scrap and Spice dissing her music career on an episode of the show. It was mainly the dancehall artist poppin’ off while Scrap, Rasheeda, and Kirk Frost suffocated their reactions in the background. After she shaded her ex by saying he has
“11 baby mamas,” Momma Dee shared spicy words for her ex-daughter-in-law. Ultimately, he stepped in too, saying they should ALL stop mentioning each other online or elsewhere.
Most recently, he went viral for introducing his new bae, a realtor baddie, to the world with date night footage! It’s unclear how long the history is between Scrap and Britney Sims, but if she’s looking for marriage, the rapper recently revealed he’s not interested in the legal marriage route. Instead, he discussed doing it like Yandy and Mendeecees after Rasheeda and Kirk Frost called out the couple’s relationship.
