Joie Chavis is setting the record straight after social media users reacted to footage of her speaking about her and her kids’ living conditions amid the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.
On Wednesday, January 22, MyMixtapez reposted a clip on X, formerly known as Twitter, of Chavis speaking. To date, the clip has garnered over 2.8 million views.
Furthermore, in the clip, Chavis revealed that her home survived the fires. However, the immediate area did not. In addition, she was reportedly told by authorities that she and her children cannot return to their home for at least another ten days.
Amid this, Chavis explained that she and her children have been “rotating four of five outfits.” Ultimately, she shared that she believes it’s time for her and her kids to leave Los Angeles, which will allow her to scale down on expenses.
In the meantime, however, Chavis explained that she and her kids have been staying with her mom.
Social media users immediately reacted to Joie Chavis’ revelation in The Shade Room’s comment section. Some appeared surprised at Chavis’ living conditions and that the fathers of her children haven’t apparently pitched in to help. To note, Chavis shares her eldest daughter with Bow Wow, a son with Future, and an infant with Trevon Diggs. Meanwhile, others defended Chavis against the chatter.
Chavis also stepped into The Shade Room’s comment section to set the record straight on the footage and her current circumstances.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Chavis revealed her latest pregnancy with the world in March 2024. Then, later that month, she responded to negative comments about having multiple children with different men.
At the time, Chavis asserted that she takes care of all of her kids on her “own,” per The Shade Room.
“At least I can take care of my kids ON MY OWN. Why y’all so quick to judge, how many baby mommas and baby daddies y’all momma and daddy got? Oh Ok! Pop it to someone else and leave me TF alone,” she wrote at the time.
Furthermore, in October, Chavis also took the time to respond to those curious about how she “rise[s] above the hate.”
