Yaya Mayweather has addressed a viral rumor that claimed she paid NBA YoungBoy $1.2 million to hang out with him for a week.
On Wednesday, January 21, @backndfendi, a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, took to the platform, sharing a tweet which read, “Floyd Mayweather daughter Yaya Mayweather revealed that she once paid NBA YoungBoy $1.2M just to hang out with him for a week when they weren’t on good terms before…”
To date, the tweet has garnered over 8.6 million views.

Then, on Friday, January 23, Mayweather took to X to address the viral rumor. In an initial tweet, she wrote, “i’ve never paid my bd $1.2m to hangout with him for a week when we weren’t on good terms. like wtf do y’all be talking about actually?”
In a subsequent tweet, Mayweather added:
“for 1 he’s rich asf… been rich asf, and for 2 my bd would never accept money from me ever. weird fake ass narratives like that is the reason he would never even accept gifts from me. why would i give money to someone who was taking care of me and giving me money dumbasses?”
Ultimately, Mayweather noted that she would start “suing” those “lying” on her name.
Then, @backndfendi appeared to retract the original tweet.
