Tamar Braxton and Funky Dineva may be burying their beef after their veryyyy public fallout amid Dineva’s allegations that the songstress was quietly creeping with Mendeecees Harris.
The former friends reunited during Atlanta Black Pride Weekend’s Influencer Gala, which honored LGBTQIA+ figures across arts, entertainment, and business, and their unexpected interaction has fans wondering whether their long-running feud has officially ended.
Over the weekend, Freddy O reported that Tamar came out to support Carlos King, who was being honored that night, and she also took the stage to perform “Love and War” and “All the Way Home” in celebration of the album’s anniversary. But the real headline of the night came when she and Funky Dineva crossed paths for the first time since their fallout. According to the post, Dineva apologized to Tamar, and the two shared a genuine moment together facilitated by Brat and Judy.
The tension between Tamar and Funky Dineva stretches back to a chaotic stretch last year involving Tamar’s medical emergency, her Heartbreak Retrograde EP, and swirling rumors about her relationship with Mendeecees Harris. As BOSSIP previously reported, controversy erupted after Tamar released a promo for her EP featuring Mendeecees playing her love interest, just a week after she revealed she’d been hospitalized and found in a pool of blood. The timing sparked speculation that her injury may have been connected to a publicity stunt.
Dineva, who had been out with Tamar the night of her accident, publicly pushed back on being dragged into the speculation, saying he felt like “collateral damage” in what he believed was a PR stunt. He expressed frustration that Tamar hadn’t publicly cleared his name, writing at the time,
“I was accused of NOT BEING A FRIEND TO YOU. When at the end of the day, it was YOU NOT BEING A FRIEND TO ME!”
Tamar responded by denying that her accident was staged, writing, “I did NOT fake my accident. I wish it was a lie.” She maintained that she’d been unaware of the backlash Dineva was facing while she was recovering in the hospital.
Dineva went on to drag Tamar further and allege that he’d seen her and Mendeecees kiss.
“I am gonna be honest with y’all, it made me uncomfortable. Like, really uncomfortable. Because it was happening right in front of my face,” said the blogger. “They had been sneaking and doing whatever they was doing for a while, but I literally saw them making out in the Uber. She was sitting on his lap, kissing all over him, tongue and everything.”
He continued,
“Then we get to her house, and they go upstairs together. I am sitting there like, what the hell is going on? This man is married to Yandy. Like, married married.”
He also alleged that Mendeecees and his friend were with Tamar the night of her medical emergency that left her in a pool of blood with teeth missing.
Tamar firmly denied the affair allegations in an official statement, calling them “hurtful and completely untrue” and confirming that her legal team was taking action regarding the claims.
Given how heated things got between them, seeing Tamar and Funky Dineva interact peacefully at the Influencer Gala is a significant shift.
Neither has publicly confirmed that their friendship is fully restored, but the apology and the warmth of their exchange suggest real progress toward reconciliation. It is unclear if beef is officially squashed, but the apology itself was seemingly real.
