Kim celebrated the achievement with a graduation ceremony in an undisclosed backyard, where she was the only student in her class. Videos shared on her Instagram story captured the moment and included heartfelt messages from Kim’s mentors, who praised her commitment to justice and advocacy work. They highlighted her efforts in fighting for clemency, raising awareness about incarceration, and meeting with individuals often overlooked by society. Kim began her legal studies six years ago through the Law Office Study Program (LOSP), which gives aspiring lawyers an alternative education instead of attending traditional law school. One speaker at the ceremony noted that Kim dedicated around 18 hours a week to her studies — totaling over 5,000 hours. She passed the baby bar in 2021 and extended her program due to the COVID-19 pandemic and her demanding schedule. While this marks the end of her study program, she’ll still need to pass the California Bar Exam to officially become a licensed attorney.
