On Friday, June 20, Jussie Smollett dropped some big news on fans, confirming his engagement to his partner, Jabari Redd. The ‘Empire’ star made the announcement by sharing several sweet photos from his proposal on Instagram.
Keeping things low-key, the heartfelt moment shows Jussie down on one knee, opening a box on a sidewalk outside a restaurant. Jabari appears right in front of him in complete shock and later embraces Jussie with a hug. Jussie captioned the heartwarming moment writing, “I’ll be spending my birthday with my Fiancé… He said YES. 💍”
Jussie Smollett and Jabari Redd have kept their relationship relatively private. However, during his appearance on the ‘Way Up With Angela Yee’ radio show in November 2024, he did reveal that he was cuffed up, telling Angela that he and Jabari had been dating for about a year at the time.
“I…am unavailable[to date] and deeply in love,” Jussie told Angela Yee.
