Larry J. Davis, an attorney representing Shannon Sharpe, has released a statement alongside a set of NSFW messages in reaction to the $50 million sexual assault lawsuit recently filed against him.
On Monday, April 21, Sharpe took to his Instagram account to share a carousel post. Additionally, it contained a statement from his counsel, Larry J. Davis. Furthermore, the statement began with NSFW messages, apparently from a woman the statement referred to as Gabriella Zuniga.
“I want you to put a dog collar around my neck and choke me with it while you’re f*****g me,” the message reads ahead of another that says. “I know u miss this big juicy a**… $25k for each cheek.”
Furthermore, the statement asserts that the $50 million lawsuit is “a blatant and cynical attempt to shakedown Mr. Sharpe for millions of dollars.”
“It is filled with lies, distortions, and misrepresentations, and it will not succeed,” his statement added.
In response, Davis asserted that Zuniga presented Sharpe with a “secretly recorded video” of one of their “consensual encounter[s].” However, Davis alleged that the recording was “heavily edited… to portray a consensual act as non-consensual.” Furthermore, the attorney noted that Zuniga allegedly refused to present Sharpe’s legal team with the footage.
“To set the record straight, we are releasing several of Ms. Zuniga’s own explicit text messages to Mr. Sharpe that clearly indicate the nature of their relationship was consensual and sexual in nature — and, in many cases, initiated by her with specific and graphic requests.”
Furthermore, the lawyer noted that Zuniga and Sharpe’s relationship was consensual up until January 2, 2025, “the day after she asked for $25,000 per cheek.”
Lastly, Davis’ statement notes that Sharpe “categorically denies all allegations” from the lawsuit — “especially the gross lie of ‘rape.'” Ultimately, the statement asserted that Sharpe is looking forward to fighting the “false claims” in court and being vindicated.
As The Shade Room previously reported, a $50 million sexual assault lawsuit was filed against Sharpe on Sunday, April 12. Furthermore, the plaintiff identified themselves as “Jane Doe” and accused Sharpe of “assault, sexual assault, battery, and sexual battery, and… intentional infliction of emotional distress.”
The suit alleged that the plaintiff and Sharpe were in a “rocky consensual relationship” for nearly two years, which led to the plaintiff allegedly being raped and threatened by Sharpe.
“He demanded complete control over her time and body, expecting her to be at his house on his schedule, at his command, whenever he called,” Tony Buzbee, one of the lawyers who reportedly filed the suit, wrote in the documents, per TMZ.
