Disney World has been rocked by a string of unrelated guest deaths. With five fatalities reported in just one month, visitors and fans are raising concerns about safety at the Florida resort. And, this most recent death at Disney adds to a growing list of mysterious and shocking incidents at the iconic theme park destination, per Men’s Journal.
Disney Guest Dies, Details Remain Undisclosed
The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that a guest passed away on November 8 at Saratoga Springs. Additionally, the individual’s identity and cause of death have not been disclosed. Joshua Stephany, chief medical examiner for Orange and Osceola counties, clarified that the case was not under their jurisdiction due to a Florida statute governing authority over examinations, investigations, and autopsies. Furthermore, Walt Disney World representatives declined to comment on the latest incident.
Fifth Guest Death Sparks Concern This Month
This marks the fifth death involving a guest of Walt Disney World within the span of a month. Earlier in October, Summer Equitz was found dead at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, though initial reports mistakenly claimed she was struck by the park’s monorail. However, officials later confirmed that there was no monorail involvement. Within the same week, a man in his 60s was discovered unresponsive at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. It was also followed by the death of Matthew Cohn at the Contemporary Resort, two days later.
Ongoing Resort Tragedies Spark Public Concern
Most recently, a woman in her 40s died after being transported from Disney World to a hospital on November 2. Authorities have not disclosed the cause of her death but emphasized that there were no signs of foul play. With five deaths in such a short period, Disney guests and fans are left asking questions. And, the sprawling resort continues to decline comment on the ongoing string of tragedies.
