Desmond and Kristy ‘Sarah’ Scott have been soft-launching their permanently separate social media presence since millions of people learned of their divorce earlier this month. Most recently, he shared a video of their sons’ favorite movie-night snack. While some fans praised the sweet-salty tip, others commented on the dad’s apparent weight loss, questioning whether the change is linked to his divorce. Desmond wasted no time clearing the air in the comment section!
On Wednesday (Jan. 29), Desmond Scott circled back to Instagram with his fifth foodie video of 2026, and his second since the reveal of his divorce. In his IG Reel, his only kitchen tools were a bowl and his hands as he showed his followers how Westin and Vance like their rare sweet treat. Pre-popped Himalayan sea salt popcorn, mini marshmallows, pretzels, and pieces of chocolate—that’s the recipe.
While the snack was the point of the video, some fans noted how Desmond Scott’s brown sweater was loosely hanging on him. @blahblahblogcast wrote, “Just me or Desmond lost some weight? Either way, dude loks relaxed, pray for y’all to both have peace and happy endings..”
Scott replied to comment, “It’s just an oversized sweater lol and I bought it when I was in my “bulking” phase.”
Another follower, @rahellyy_ commented, “Dang he lost weight too.” To that, Desmond responded, “I started cutting back in June lol ws 227 in April. I’ve been 185 since October. It’s intentional I still eat.”
Way before fans suspected a divorce, they got to enjoy beautiful plates of food and desserts Desmond cooked for Kristy Scott. It became a core part of their content, along with her jokingly snatching the plates. That’s the same content the internet wrote and filmed think pieces about all month long. He cheated, says the paperwork Kristy filed in Texas on Dec. 30. One day after he seemingly admitted to it online, he was filmed passionately kissing 24-year-old influencer Marissa Springer in a Houston cocktail bar. The internet LOST IT. Marissa later defended herself in a video, confirming they met that night and claiming the ink on his divorce is “dry.” Desmond has yet to speak about how he was gripping the 24-year-old. Same for Kristy Scott.
His comment section was wild up to that point, went nuts after that, but has since found some calm as 1.9 million have continued to follow his new era. In his popcorn trail mix video, there was love amid some shade in his 2,700+ comments.

Also on Wednesday, Kristy Sarah shared a different POV from their estranged marriage. She took fans grocery shopping with her, admitting that she’s nervous coming back on social media and that she’s not in the headspace to make funny content. While in the store, stocking up for the boys, Kristy alluded to her divorce, saying this time will force fans to see a different side of her.
“All is well. Just a lot of change at once. And I also wanna feel organic. I can’t lie and say that I want to be flipping around my living room right now. We’ll get there…This is such an interesting phase.”
She also shared how she plans to use this new time to learn more about who Kristy is. And like in Desmond’s case, fans are also riding behind her, and letting her know it in the comment section!
