Week 3 wrapped in Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ federal trial on Friday, May 30. The week marked the end of explosive testimony from “Mia,” the second star witness brought in by the prosecution: a former assistant of Diddy’s who accused him of sexually assaulting her multiple times. But she wasn’t the only witness to take the stand during week 3. Others also testified to Diddy’s alleged actions, further setting the stage for sex trafficking and prostitution charges against him and how they may connect to racketeering.
But until a verdict is reached, one question will remain. Is the prosecution building a strong case against the 55-year-old? Or is his defense team gaining steam?
Now, The Shade Room‘s Justin Carter is back down with trial reporters Brianne Deville and Saràn Tarawaley. The trio is breaking it all down on ‘TSR Investigates.’
Per Tarawaley, the “biggest takeaway” of the week was noting that the jury has witnessed a lot of testimony and evidence presented in the trial being corroborated by back-to-back witnesses.
“You are hearing these people say their perspective of the story,” she said. “But when you hear it multiple times, it makes it a bit more factual…”
Specifically, the instance was seen when Diddy’s former assistant, “Mia,” took the stand toward the conclusion of week three. To note, her identity has been shielded from the public. Additionally, she noted no longer being in the workforce due to her complex case of PTSD. Furthermore, Mia attributed the condition to her time working as Diddy’s assistant.
“At a birthday celebration, she said Diddy held her up against a wall, kissed her, and also put his hand up her dress,” Tarawaley recalled. “And then she spoke about an instance where she was sleeping in his home… and she said that she felt the weight of a human being on her, and it just happened to be Diddy, and that’s when he put his private part inside of her, sexually assaulting her…”
Per Deville, although the prosecution has presented strong witness testimony, Diddy’s defense seems to be hitting back just as hard. On Friday, May 30, Brian Steel cross-examined Mia, grilling the former assistant about her claims of being “best friends” with Diddy. Additionally, he questioned her praising him on social media with various posts and gestures shared over the years.
