If you have been sinking hours into BO7 Zombies lately, you have probably heard the chatter about the Jager pistol. At first glance, it looks like just another sidearm – nothing flashy, nothing to make you drop your go-to weapons. But spend a couple of matches with it and you will see why people are raving. I stumbled on it while testing builds in a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby and, honestly, it floored me. Once you run this thing akimbo, it chews through the early waves without slowing you down and still has legs when you are hitting those more brutal rounds in the 40s or 50s. It is rare that something feels this balanced between mobility and raw output, but the Jager nails it.
On paper, it is a pistol with nothing particularly wild. You might even pass it over for a shiny new SMG or rifle when it drops. The trick is, it scales in a way that catches you off guard. The minute you start dropping upgrades – first Pack-a-Punch, then rarity boosts – it flips into something else entirely. I have had runs where one shot from a Jager was enough to drop a zombie far later in the game than expected. It chunks elites, keeps pressure off during those chaotic mid-round scrambles, and even Uberclaus goes down faster than you would think. That sweet freedom to dart around the map with pistols while having stopping power feels like Treyarch tipped their hat to old favourites without rehashing them completely.
It is fair to say the first couple of rounds can feel underwhelming. You’re sitting there, tapping away, doing the damage but nothing crazy. Then you hit that first Pack-a-Punch tier and the tempo changes fast. Tier 2 feels unreal – almost like a different weapon. You will probably find yourself not switching away because it stays so effective through most of the game. There’s a short ramp, sure, but once you are over it, you have got a tool you can trust deep into a session.
Part of the fun with the Jager comes from the flexibility. Even if your kit luck is terrible – wrong perks, random attachments – it still pulls its weight. And when you do land the right upgrades and augments, it borders on broken. That combination of consistency and potential for absurd damage makes it a near-perfect choice for players chasing high-round runs. If you have not tried it yet, get it into your next build, grind a bit, and you will see what all the fuss is about. I dialled mine in after a few matches and it became my top pick instantly. Now, every time I am pushing a serious game and want an edge, I am reaching for the Jager – sometimes right after I buy CoD BO7 Bot Lobby to warm up.
