Fathom has revealed an official trailer to promote their upcoming screening series in January 2026 of the "Extended Editions" of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. For years now, Warner Bros has been running retrospective screenings of the beloved LOTR movies over and over. They've been re-released tons of times, they're always back out in theaters (check your local listings), they're also always touring the world with Live Concert versions as well. In January 2026, Fathom will show the full-on 3 1/2 hour Extended Edition versions (my favorites - the complete experience) in theaters - one each night for the final two weeks in January. This just seems like they needed to get some films on screens that will actually get audiences in January.
