"Do you have a sample for me?" Verve Pictures in the UK has debuted an official trailer for an indie film titled
Chicken Town, the latest from British filmmaker
Richard Bracewell. It's set for release in the UK first
this June, and should alos be out in the US later this year. Two schoolfriends in a dead-end town in the East of England join forces with a green-fingered grandad to fence a shed of weed the old man accidentally grew on his allotment. Together they form an alliance of age & youth, an unlikely partnership between the forgetful and the forgotten. Bracewell describes the indie film is "a story about the contradictions of modern family life; a film with both a heart and a conscience. If Greta Gerwig and Shane Meadows had a love-child we hope it might resemble
Chicken Town." Ha. That sounds like good fun. The film stars
Ethaniel Davy &
Amelie Davies, comedian
Graham Fellows, plus a youth cast chosen from The Television Workshop in Nottingham - including
Ramy Ben Fredj,
Hugo Carter, &
Everett Gaskin. Keep an eye out for this one. //
