DDG has stayed relatively quiet on X (formerly Twitter) during his custody case with Halle Bailey over their son, Halo. However, late on Thursday, June 5, he broke his streak by sharing a new post that quickly sparked some strong reactions online.
DDG dropped a message on X seemingly venting about being famous. He even threw in a comparison to Michael Jackson, and babyyy, the internet was not feeling it one bit.
“now i know how michael jackson felt being famous.. s**t crazy,” he wrote.
The steamer didn’t explain why he posted it, but folks instantly assumed he was subliminally speaking in regards to his court battle with Halle Bailey.
Meanwhile, folks in The Shade Room’s comment section lit DDG up for bringing up Michael Jackson. Some even called him delusional for thinking he could compare his life to the GOAT. Peep some of the reactions below.
Instagram user @therealkamarrii wrote, “Idk why this generation so comfortable speaking on “Michael Jackson” but ok.”
Instagram user @iam_smc wrote, “DDG not now, trump and Elon are fighting! 😩😩”

If you’ve been tapped in, then you already know DDG and Halle Bailey have been laying out all of their issues with a judge. As The Shade Room previously reported, DDG filed a motion to stop Halle from traveling abroad with their son. According to TMZ, he claims she poses an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their son. In the motion, he accuses Halle of attempting suicide, citing an incident where she allegedly left his house with his registered gun while pregnant. He also claims she considered having an abortion without telling him, but later changed her mind.
Halle responded to his allegations, stating that she sought treatment during her struggles with mental health and is fully capable of caring for Halo. Additionally, she called his claims “exaggerated” and mentioned that his behavior had an effect on her mental state. She believes DDG is using these examples to discredit her previous abuse allegations against him.
“Had Darryl really been concerned about my parenting, he would have taken action prior to this time. This is cold retribution to embarrass, humiliate, and cause me additional emotional distress,” Halle Bailey explained in a declaration obtained by Billboard.
