Megan Thee Stallion is making some major boss moves, and this time, she’s stepping into the anime world! The Houston Hottie, who’s never been shy about her love for all things anime, dropped the huge announcement during her appearance at DreamCon. Sis revealed she has an anime series in the works, and it’s set to debut on a particular streaming platform later this year. She has also teamed up with Carl Jones for the project, raising excitement for its release!
On Friday, May 30, Meg pulled up to DreamCon in Houston looking like a whole anime character herself, channeling Yoruichi Shihōin from the manga series ‘Bleach’ with her fit. Okay, fashion statement! But it wasn’t just her ensemble that had the crowd gagged… she came with some big news. “I’m coming out with my own anime,” the 30-year-old announced, prompting the audience to erupt in cheers.
She spilled that the series is dropping on Amazon Prime and promised it’s “the s**t.” When the panel’s moderator pressed for more deets, Meg played it coy, saying, “No, that’s the exciting news,” but teased, “You ain’t ever seen an anime like this ever in your life.” While she kept the release date and plot under wraps, Meg’s energy had the DreamCon crowd ready for whatever she’s cooking up.
But Meg had one more announcement to share regarding her upcoming anime. She wasn’t alone in working on this project. In fact, she teamed up with Carl Jones, producer of ‘The Boondocks’ and ‘Black Dynamite,’ to bring her creative vision to life, y’all! During the panel, she shouted him out, asking, “Is Carl Jones up in here by any chance?” as she looked around the venue.
“Shoutout to Carl Jones, because he helped me create my anime. I don’t know if y’all know who that is, but y’all should know who that is,” she quipped.
Meg made it clear they put in the work, and nobody is going to expect what’s coming once this anime drops, calling it a one-of-a-kind. “We took a long time putting this together, and it’s finally coming,” she said. With Meg’s love for all things anime and Carl’s track record, sis is definitely hyping this project up to be worth the wait! “Megan Thee Stallion and Carl Jones, what the hell?” she added, clearly excited by their collab hitting Prime TV soon.
The Roomies were definitely sounding off in the comments section of TSR’s post as they shared their thoughts on Meg landing her own anime.
