Well it finally happened, after 4 years of owning my 2018 Wrangler Unlimited and reading about death wobble online, I hit a bump on Al Qudra road at about 90kmh and the whole front end started shaking violently like the wheels were going to tear off. Had to brake down to almost a stop before it settled down, and honestly it scared the hell out of me especially with my family in the car. I've been reading up on this all evening and it seems like most people point to the track bar, ball joints, or tie rod ends, but I'm wondering if worn out shocks could also contribute because they let the axle bounce uncontrollably and trigger the oscillation. My Jeep has about 120k km on the original suspension and the ride has been getting pretty bouncy lately anyway. I was looking at https://suspensionrepairdubai.ae/jeep-shock-absorber-replacement/ just to see what's available but I don't wanna throw money at shocks if the real culprit is something else. For anyone who's actually fixed death wobble on a JK or JL, did new shocks help at all or was it a complete waste until you sorted out the steering components first? I need to get this sorted ASAP because the car is basically undrivable on anything but perfect roads right now and that's not really an option in Dubai.
